”Research show that 82 % of doctors
react very positively on using
dogs to detect cancer”
– SuccessClinic marketing study 4/2019
The cancer-detection abilities of dogs have been studied for over thirty years.
We are now making a diagnostic dog service available to consumers in Finland and selected EU countries.
Easy to use, safe and precise. A diagnostic dog can identify a scent profile from urine, skin or exhaled air with 95% accuracy. At Doctor Dogs Oy, we enable communication between you and the diagnostic dog.
For many years, the authorities have been training and using dogs to locate and identify e.g. banned nutritional substances, drugs, money, explosives, sources of fires, and people trapped in rubble.
The dog’s detection skills partly depend on the dog handler’s expertise. We train our dogs in line with the best practices, in the same way as dogs used by the authorities. To prevent possible errors, all samples are checked by two dogs. Customers can also reserve a time for a personal meeting, during which the dog will show the body area in which it has detected the cancer scent profile.
A dog’s sense of smell is 100,000 times more sensitive than that of a human. The first research findings on a dog’s ability to detect cancer were published in the highly respected medical journal, The Lancet, in 1989.
